At the time of her selection, the 5-foot-5 senior right-handed pitcher and outfielder had led the Olympians to a 12-0 record and a berth in the Division III state tournament. Bourgeois compiled a 9-0 record in the circle with a 0.137 ERA through 12 games, striking out 111 batters and walking just eight in 51 innings. At the plate, she entered the postseason batting .500 with two home runs, 20 RBI and 24 runs scored, posting a .560 on-base percentage, an .825 slugging percentage and a 1.385 OPS. She entered her senior season as a four-time state champion.
Bourgeois has maintained a 4.3 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play softball at West Virginia State University this fall.
A National Honor Society member, Bourgeois has volunteered locally raising money for cancer research and as a youth softball instructor.
